Circuit Training

Circuit training is a type of interval training which combines cardiovascular activity and resistance training into a full body workout. It has become increasingly popular because it provides a one-stop exercise session, making efficient use of limited exercise time. Studies at Baylor University and the Cooper Institute indicate that circuit training is the most time-efficient way to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. “It’s the most scientifically proven exercise system. It’s time-efficient and incorporates strength, flexibility and cardio in the same workout.” (The Cooper Institute: Dallas, TX)

The Los Angeles Athletic Club has created three distinct workout areas which utilize different styles of equipment. Within each of these areas we have created simple circuit training maps that utilize the distinctly different styles of exercise equipment; FreeMotion functional, Life Fitness isolated, and Keiser adjustable pneumatic.
